Food Service Assistant - Barista, Conservatory Café 5-20 hours per week | Part-time | Botanical Conservatory - Tulip Tree

The Botanical Conservatory Café is looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable helping visitors while preparing food, coffee, tea, and café items. If you enjoy customer service and want to be part of one of Fort Wayne's most beautiful and unique spaces, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
As a Food Service Assistant - Barista at the Conservatory Café, you'll help create a welcoming experience for visitors while preparing and serving food, coffee, tea, and other café items. This position supports daily café operations, customer service, and cleanliness in one of Fort Wayne's most beautiful community spaces.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors, answer questions, take orders, and provide friendly customer service
  • Prepare and serve food, coffee, tea, and other café beverages while following recipes and presentation standards
  • Operate the point-of-sale system, process payments, and handle transactions accurately
  • Restock supplies, rotate inventory, and help keep the café organized and ready for service
  • Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, seating areas, and workspaces while following food safety and sanitation guidelines

What You Bring
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A people-first attitude and genuine enthusiasm for helping others
