The Adult Day Health Care program, located at 1200 Waters Place, Bronx, NY is looking for part time (22.5 hours per week) Food Service Worker to join their team. The work schedule is 8:0 0 am to 1:30 pm, 5 days per week and alternating Saturdays.

Job Summary:

Has general knowledge of food preparation and handling technique; able to execute various food service assignments; able to work as a team member , can work independently given the proper direction . Can provide a clean, safe and neat environment for clients, self and staff.

The essential duties and responsibilities are:

  • Handles the storage preparation, portioning and serving food.
  • Cleans immediate work areas and maintains clean and sanitary work environment
  • Washing of small wares and equipment, conforming to all sanitary codes and standards
  • Prepares cold foods, salads and nourishment as needed or required
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate and respond politely to customers.
  • Minimum of six months previous food service experience required.
  • Can commit to work every Saturday on flexible shifts.
