Minimum Qualifications Six months of experience or training in patient care; OR Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate; OR Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.

NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Assist with documenting the admission of new patients into the medical record.

Provide care to patients such as ambulating, feeding, bathing, positioning, and lifting. Sterilize equipment and supplies. Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight; records in the patient's medical record.

Position-Specific Details: Location: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana. Appointment Type: WAE / Part Time (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period) Work Schedule: Alternating Shifts (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM / 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM). Schedule may vary depending on your availability and need to cover shifts.
