Job description

Part- Time/ Non- Exempt 
Starting Wage: $19.29- $21.43 

Job Summary
The Janitor keeps the building and grounds organized, tidy, clean & sanitary for all employees & public to use. Completes janitorial tasks on floors, carpets, & bathrooms. Assists with some maintenance duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position.  Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodations to be qualified for the position.  Other duties may be required and assigned.
75%  Custodial/Cleaning:
Cleans buildings including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, garbage pick-up, bathroom maintenance (such as cleaning or plunging toilets, washing mirrors or floors, etc), and washing windows.
25% Grounds Maintenance:
Performs outdoor grounds maintenance such as snow removal, grass cutting and landscaping projects. Sets up conference room furniture. Delivers copy paper to departments. Picks-up trash to maintain orderly grounds and changes light bulbs.

None.
Minimum Education Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  • High school degree.
  • No experience required.

  • None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications
In order to perform the functions and responsibilities of the position (listed above) the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are essential.
 
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work under limited supervision.
  • Must be well spoken, and detail oriented.
  • Wiliness to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions for general work assignments.

Physical Requirements
 
  • Frequent periods of standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Moderate periods of squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent periods of lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move and climb ladders.
Work Environment
 
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with extreme conditions.
  • Frequent periods of loud noises.
  • Frequent periods of coming in contact with bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
