Job description

Position: Closing Steward (Dishwasher) – Part Time (PM Shift)

Reports To: Sous Chef(s)


Schedule & Details
  • Status: Part Time
  • Shift: 4:00PM- Close (evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed). Usually about 6 hour shift. 
  • Compensation: $14/hour

About the Role

As a Steward (Dishwasher), you are a vital part of our kitchen team, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations behind the scenes. In this role, you’ll maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the kitchen while supporting chefs and food service staff. This role specifically is responsible for ensuring closing duties and dishes are completed before leaving. 

Dishwashers play a critical role in hospitality by keeping all kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas clean and ready for service, helping the entire operation run efficiently.

What You’ll Do
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and dish areas
  • Remove trash and recycling and keep waste areas clean and sanitary
  • Sweep, mop, and clean floors, walls, and work surfaces
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed
  • Support kitchen operations by restocking clean dishes and supplies
  • Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or maintenance needs
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Work between restaurant and banquet kitchen areas as needed
  • Assist with additional cleaning and kitchen support tasks as assigned
