On N On Community Child Care provides safe, reliable transportation for students participating in our before-school, after-school, vacation, and summer programs in the Springfield community. We are committed to providing a safe, caring, and supportive environment where children can learn and thrive.
We are seeking a professional and safety-minded School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from our program. If you enjoy working with children and take pride in providing safe, dependable transportation, we encourage you to apply.
A prospective driver must possess a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements authorizing the transportation of students on school buses.
Responsibilities
  • Safely transport students to and from school and program activities
  • Maintain order and ensure student safety while on the bus
  • Enforce program rules and appropriate student conduct
  • Report student behavior concerns to the Transportation Coordinator
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections
  • Report mechanical problems and maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safe operating conditions
  • Perform routine vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, DEF, tires, and batteries
  • Conduct required school bus evacuation and safety drills
  • Complete mileage logs, passenger counts, and other required reports
  • Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and professional development
  • Maintain current knowledge of Massachusetts school transportation regulations
Requirements
  • Valid Massachusetts CDL Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
  • Minimum of 3 years of driving experience preferred
  • Excellent driving record

  • Must successfully complete the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC), including fingerprinting
