Job description

Job Posting The Irving Public Library is seeking a detail oriented and customer service focused part-time library assistant. Duties include checking in, shelving, unloading and sorting library materials; assisting library customers with checkout and registering for library cards; processing search reports, and providing assistance with library programs, displays and program flyers. Duties may also include answering account inquiries and assisting the public with library computers, other library equipment, and transporting books.

Duties typically require lifting up to 60 pounds frequently. A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience required. Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills beneficial.

Hours vary and will include some evenings and weekends. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
