Job description

JOIN OUR GROWING TEAM!
Minimally Invasive Vascular is seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN/Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our interventional radiology team. As our practice continues to grow, this position has the potential to develop into a full-time opportunity.
The Interventional Radiology Nurse provides patient care throughout the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery phases. Our practice performs minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including angioplasty, thrombectomy, embolization, arterial revascularization, dialysis access procedures, and other vascular interventions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Procedure Care
  • Review patient medical histories, laboratory results, medications, and relevant imaging
  • Complete pre-procedure nursing assessments and confirm patient readiness
  • Verify that required documentation and informed consent have been completed
  • Educate patients and families about what to expect before and after the procedure
  • Start IVs and administer medications as ordered
Intra-Procedure Care
  • Serve as the circulating nurse during interventional radiology procedures
  • Assist the interventional radiologist and clinical team throughout procedures
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, oxygenation, cardiac rhythm, and patient responsiveness
  • Administer moderate sedation, analgesics, and other medications as ordered and permitted by applicable regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support infection-control practices and help maintain a safe procedural environment
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in a patient’s condition
Post-Procedure and Recovery Care
  • Monitor patients throughout the recovery period
  • Assess access and puncture sites for bleeding, hematoma, or other complications
  • Manage pain, nausea, and other post-procedure symptoms
  • Provide clear discharge instructions and patient education
  • Confirm that discharge criteria have been met before the patient leaves the facility
  • Communicate concerns or changes in patient condition to the provider
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Experience with moderate sedation, critical care, emergency nursing, procedural nursing, PACU, cardiac catheterization, or interventional radiology preferred
  • Strong IV-starting and patient-assessment skills
  • Knowledge of sedation monitoring and airway management
  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including bleeding, respiratory compromise, and contrast reactions
  • Strong critical-thinking, communication, documentation, and patient-education skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
