These roles can include babysitting, working at daycares, after-school care, or providing assistance to families during specific hours. Duties often include supervising children, preparing snacks or meals, helping with homework, and organizing activities. Part time childcare positions are ideal for those seeking flexible work schedules and can be found with private families, childcare centers, or community organizations.

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping children learn and grow? Our Little Miami Learning Center is looking for a dedicated Part-Time Teacher to join our childcare team. As part of Countryside YMCA โ€” a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility โ€” you'll play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for the children in our care.

What You'll Do

You'll work closely with your classroom's Lead Teacher to support daily learning and development for the children at Little Miami. Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing toys, furniture, and equipment
  • Keeping accurate records of daily observations, activities, meals, and any medications administered
  • Completing point-of-service meal counts
  • Completing annual CACFP training
  • Taking on other classroom duties as needed

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred; if not certified, must obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain recertification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Strong communication skills with parents, coworkers, and children
  • Patience and warmth when working with kids and their families
  • Solid knowledge of childcare principles and early childhood teaching strategies
  • Ability to create an enjoyable, welcoming classroom atmosphere

Physical Requirements

This role requires extended periods of standing, frequent bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. As with any childcare environment, exposure to common illness-causing bacteria and viruses is expected.
