Position Available: Part TimeChildcare Worker - Hourly As Needed
Twelve (12) Month Position
School / Program: The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey: Aquatics and Fitness Center
Start Date: Immediately - Pending Criminal History Clearance
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
  • CPR/AED certified
  • Reports to the Health & Wellness Coordinator

Minimal Academic Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  2. Experience in a day care setting preferred.
  3. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Commission may find appropriate and acceptable.

Scope:
The childcare worker will report to the ESCNJ Community Aquatics and Fitness Center Coordinator or designee and assume all responsibilities as pertaining to duties, and provide children with a safe and positive atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the coordinator/designee and the parents when necessary.
  • Assist in providing adequate equipment and activities.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Provide various experiences for children that may include songs, games, and story- telling.
  • Build children's self-esteem.
  • Establish routines and provide positive guidance.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
  • Adhere to ESCNJ policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities and assignments as directed by the Superintendent or designee.

Hourly Rate: $21 - Hourly as Needed
