What is a part time Chief Financial Officer CFO?

Part-time Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), also known as fractional or outsourced CFOs, are finance executives who work with organizations on a part-time, contract, or interim basis. They provide the same high-level financial expertise as a full-time CFO but offer flexibility and cost savings for businesses that don't require or can't afford a full-time executive. Part-time CFOs help with financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and financial reporting, supporting organizations during periods of growth, transition, or specific projects.

What are the typical challenges a part time Chief Financial Officer CFO faces when integrating with existing finance teams?

A part-time CFO often joins organizations with established finance teams and must quickly build trust, understand existing processes, and identify areas for improvement without disrupting daily operations. Balancing strategic oversight with limited hours requires strong communication and prioritization skills. Additionally, aligning the team's goals with broader business objectives while providing mentorship remotely or on a flexible schedule can be challenging but also rewarding, as it fosters both team development and organizational growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time Chief Financial Officer CFO, and why are they important?

Familiarity with advanced financial modeling tools, ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, and financial reporting software is highly valued. Job description

Overview

Antoine Duclaux, currently Senior Vice President Renault Trucks International, is taking over as Chief Executive Officer of Renault Trucks. He will succeed Bruno Blin, who has decided to step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2025. Going forward Bruno Blin will remain with the Volvo Group as Senior Adviser, contributing to various strategic projects.

Experience and leadership

Antoine Duclaux is an accomplished industry leader with extensive international experience in both operational and strategic roles. He has an in-depth understanding of the sectorโ€™s challenges and a proven track record in delivering large-scale operational excellence.

He joined the Volvo Group in May 2020 in Sweden as Group head of Internal Audit and Risk Management, reporting to the AB Volvo Board. Prior to that, he held several senior leadership positions within the Holcim Group, including CEO roles in Latin America, the Middle East and Central Europe, as well as Head of Strategy and M&A, and Head of Internal Audit. Since July 2024, Antoine Duclaux has been responsible for Renault Trucks International, driving business development across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as leading the companyโ€™s Emergency and Defense division.

Key statements

โ€œIt has been a true honour to lead this company, and I am extremely proud of the journey we have accomplished together with all Renault Trucks employees,โ€ states Bruno Blin. โ€œWe have strengthened Renault Trucksโ€™ position in the market, deepened our understanding of customersโ€™ needs, and firmly established ourselves as a frontrunner in electromobility. These collective achievements give me greater confidence than ever in the companyโ€™s future. I am fully confident that Antoine Duclaux is the right leader to guide Renault Trucks into its next chapter, through the transformative journey ahead.โ€

โ€œI feel deeply honoured, humbled and energised to take on the role of CEO of Renault Trucks. My past experiences, including the induction to the Volvo Group and the recent experience in our international markets, have provided me with strong insights to drive a long-term profitable growth for Renault Trucks, together with our great teams and in line with the Group values. We will keep embracing our responsibility to lead the industryโ€™s transition towards decarbonisation,โ€ says Antoine Duclaux.
