JOB DESCRIPTION.
Second Baptist School is currently seeking PART-TIME CDL DRIVERS.
  • Reports To: Director of Athletics
  • Compensation: Part-Time/Seasonal/Stipend

JOB SUMMARY.
SBS bus drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school related events, such as sports and arts activities.
SCHEDULE OF ROLE.
The schedule for this role will be dependent on extracurricular schedules. Typically 10-20 hours per week.
CANDIDATE SUMMARY.
We seek the following in qualified candidates:

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Transport students in a safe and timely manner to and from school activities while following safety procedures and applicable regulations
  • Operate and safely drive a school bus in both good and adverse weather and road/traffic conditions while transporting passengers to events
  • Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
  • Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills
  • Communicate with student's parents to solve inappropriate or unsafe behavior, utilizing interpersonal communication skills
  • Assist students and passengers in boarding and unloading the bus when necessary

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED.
To perform this job successfully, candidates must have:
  • Current CDL with passenger endorsement
  • The ability to operate a vehicle with air brakes (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, showing professionalism in all interactions
  • Skills in organizing resources, being detail-oriented, establishing priorities and working independently
