Job Summary
This job is Part Time and as needed to drive the college passenger vans, shuttle buses, ultra coaches, Motor coaches to different college activities and to drive the college athletics teams to their events. This will include weekdays, nights, early morning, and weekend depending on the request.
Schedules may range from a few hours to multi-day trips. can include out of town and or out of state trips. Driving can include the following states Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming, plus other states as requested.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Able to safely drive and operate 12 passenger vans, shuttle buses with ADA lifts, 28 to 40 passenger ultra coaches and up to 58 passenger motor coaches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum qualifications
1. Safe Vehicle Operation and Passenger Transportation
  • Knowledge of commercial driving laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and passenger transportation best practices.
  • Understanding of ADA requirements and safe passenger assistance procedures.
Skills:
  • Skilled in operating 12-passenger vans, shuttle buses with ADA lifts, 28- to 40-passenger coaches, and up to 58-passenger motor coaches.
  • Ability to navigate routes safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to road, weather, and traffic conditions.
Abilities:
  • Transport College groups to scheduled events and activities in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Maintain passenger safety and comfort throughout trips.
  • Remain alert and focused during extended driving periods.
2. Vehicle Inspection, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Knowledge of pre-trip and post-trip inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety standards and operational requirements.
