Description

Position Summary:

Ballard Truck Center is seeking a highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of CDL Driver. This position is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Ballard locations and Ballard customers for the Sales and Service Department. 

Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Functions: 

  • Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Ballard locations or customer locations in New England 

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles and report to location manager if any issue are found 

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor 

Work Environment:  

  • Inside/outside 

  • Office/shop/warehouse 

  • Noise level - varies 

  • All Weather conditions

  • The associate must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. 

  • The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.

Qualifications: 

  • Class 8 driving experience required 

  • Clean driving record required  

  • CDL Class B license required; CDL Class A license preferred 

  • Must be able to drive Standard Transmission to perform road tests 

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions is required. 

  • Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required 

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job 

  • Willing and able to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required. This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
