Job description

This is a part-time 12-month position, not to exceed 999 hours per year. The part time bus driver is responsible for the logistics and safety of transporting the students of University of Findlay to off-campus events.

This position has a random unannounced Substance Abuse Testing Policy. All CDL licensed drivers must comply with this testing, which will take place immediately upon hiring. Also, The University may conduct screening in any given 12-month period. Every CDL licensed employee will have an equal chance of being selected each and every time the process is implemented. Post accident testing is mandatory.

Essential Functions


This position requires regular, as scheduled, reliable attendance in the campus environment.


1. Transport athletics to and from events, determine best suitable route to event.
2. Inspect and maintain vehicles.
3. Perform all other duties deemed appropriate for the position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at campus job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part time 12-month position, not to exceed 999 hours per year, and general hours of work will fluctuate depending on driver availability and scheduling needs of the University. Weekend work will be required.


Travel
Travel is an expectation of this position. A valid CDL driver's license and a safe driving record required. Post-accident testing is mandatory.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma.
2. Two years of work related experience.
3. Clean driving record.
4. CDL required with Passenger Endorsement.
