Job description

Civil Engineering Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced field inspector for part-time employment in southwest Oakland County. We are engineers and surveyors, working with municipalities, state agencies, and developers to build better communities through our wide range of services. CES’ expertise ranges from municipal engineering to site design for new buildings, roadways, and water distribution systems. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience performing inspection or field work. Municipal and commercial experience a plus. We offer competitive wages based on experience. Responsibilities

Review plans, special provisions, construction and materials manual, and specifications that apply to your assigned duties. Discuss your responsibility and authority with the project engineer/manager who has day-to-day project responsibility. Review format and required content of your inspection daily report. Discuss notification, changes, corrections, delays, rejections, tolerances, and checks with the project engineer/manager. Make sure you have the most recent “approved” plans for the project and meeting minutes from the pre-construction meeting.

General Work Conditions

Field work with minimal office work. Field work will include, but not limited to, exposure to heavy construction equipment, extensive construction site walking and at times working in inclement weather. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
