Job Summary
* Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish. *** Local position
The work of a Ramp Clerk includes the following: loading and unloading of cargo (freight, and company material) on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft; the ramp transfers of cargo where required; the receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company material, export at the designated express docks, the completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described. Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Must have 2+ years of experience, no restrictions, and the ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
Compensation: Starting hourly rate is $22.41. Team members have the opportunity to earn up to $26.91 per hour based on shift availability, applicable shift premiums, and additional certifications.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles (tractor-trailers) in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Transport freight safely and deliver loads on schedule.
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transport.
  • Load and unload freight when required.
  • Maintain inspection reports, and shipping documentation.
  • Comply with DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Communicate with Lead, customer, and supervisor regarding delivery status, delays, route changes, or emergencies.
  • Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or safety concerns.
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, security, and cargo handling.
  • Use defensive driving techniques and operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner under all weather and traffic conditions.
  • Assist with warehouse or cargo operations when assigned.
  • Participate in required safety meetings, training programs, and DOT compliance activities.

Minimum Requirements
    • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
    • Must successfully pass DOT Physical
    • No current CDL suspension or revocation
    • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and good DAC Report
    • Successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
    • Must be able to use handheld technology and smartphone applications such as GPS.
    • Must have 2-3 years of experience
    • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off

    **This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**

Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. (or as required by the employer).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays if needed.
