Part Time, 48 Hours Per Pay Period, Variable Shifts

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the PBX operator is to efficiently answer and route all incoming call to the switchboard in the shortest time.  Must be able to deal with a high volume of calls, talk pleasantly with the public, monitor multiple alarm panels and page overhead.


  • Answer incoming calls and routes to other departments.
  • Monitor multiple alarm panels and code phone
  • Place L.D. calls for physicians.
  • Page overhead for employees/page codes.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually.  Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education:          

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.  Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.
