UW Medical Center-Montlake - Radiation Oncologyhas an outstanding opportunity for aPart Time Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part time schedule

  • 8-hour day shifts, 3 - 4 days per week

  • Monday-Friday, with some call responsibilities

  • Call responsibilities will include 1-2 weekend shifts per month

  • Shifts will run between 7:00am and 7:00pm; the exact start times will vary by day


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Radiation Oncologyprovides care to patients of all ages - including pediatric patients - who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Our radiation therapy services have been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's best.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Provide life-changing treatment for cancer patients

  • Position is part time and offers work-life balance

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs

  • Serves in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise throughout the shift

  • Supports multiple providers

  • Educates patients and their families on symptom management

  • Assists in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals

  • Supports patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant

  • Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)

  • Performs phone triage

  • Answers patient calls and eCare messages

  • Monitors patient flow in the clinic


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of recent oncology, medical-surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience

  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

  • Active BLS (required by start date)

  • Active PALS (required within first 6 months)

  • Must be willing to work with pediatric patients
