Part-time Business Teacher (.4 FTE)
Position Summary
The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective instruction that promotes student learning and achievement aligned with District curriculum, Illinois Learning Standards, and Board of Education policies. Teachers create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students while fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible citizenship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction and Student Learning
• Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
• Develop and implement instructional strategies that promote active student engagement and critical thinking.
• Establish clear learning objectives and communicate expectations for student performance.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance and growth.
• Differentiate instruction to support varied learning styles, abilities, and needs.
Classroom Environment and Student Support
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
• Establish and enforce classroom expectations that promote positive behavior and student responsibility.
• Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of students.
• Maintain effective classroom management procedures that maximize instructional time.
Curriculum and Instructional Planning
• Implement District curriculum and instructional programs consistent with Board policy and administrative guidelines.

• Maintain accurate instructional records, lesson plans, and assessment data.
Assessment and Student Progress

• Collaborate with other staff members to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.

• Comply with all Board of Education policies, District procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Maintain professional ethics consistent with the Illinois Educator Code of Ethics.

• Perform supervisory duties and other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee.
Qualifications
• Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education with appropriate subject endorsements.
• Meet all state certification and licensure requirements for the assigned teaching position.
• Provide official transcripts of all academic credits earned and submit updated transcripts as required.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed primarily in a classroom and school environment.
