Job description

Job Responsibilities The University Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the bus according to a set daily schedule. He/she must ensure that the bus is always in good operating condition, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, assist students, when necessary, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct. It is critical for University Bus Driver to operate the bus in a safe manner.

Minimum and Additional Requirements The University Bus Driver is required to have, as a minimum, class C CDL driver's license, passenger (P) endorsement and an updated USDOT Medical certificate. Criminal records and drivers check, drug test and physical assessment will be required. The University Bus Driver has a moderately strenuous job.

The Driver must sit for long periods and requires intense concentration, particularly in poor driving conditions. The University Bus Driver must work in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.

Additional Comments Must have proficient knowledge of highway and university bus regulation, how to deal with students, how to deal with students with special needs, scheduling system and procedures, record keeping system and equipment cleaning standards and procedures. Basic computer skills and knowledge.
