Position: School Bus Driver (Part-Time; AM/PM Route)
Reports to: School Operations Director
Work Site: The Main Street Academy; College Park, GA
Job Summary:
The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is actively seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and professional Part-Time School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, courteous, and committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for students while following all state and local transportation regulations.
Work Schedule
  • Monday–Friday (TMSA Approved School/Operational Calendar)
  • Morning and afternoon split-route schedule
  • Occasional field trips or extracurricular transportation opportunities may be available
  • Approximately 5-6 hours per school day
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with:
    • Passenger (P) endorsement
    • School Bus (S) endorsement
  • Clean driving record – 7-year MVR required
Successful completion of:
  • Criminal background check
  • Drug and alcohol screening
  • DOT physical examination
Certification/Licensure
  • Must meet all Georgia school bus driver certification and training requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to safely operate a school bus and manage student behavior
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Safely transport students to and from school, school-related activities, and field trips
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections including post-trip cleaning
  • Maintain order and appropriate student behavior on the bus
  • Follow designated routes and schedules
  • Comply with all Georgia Department of Education and Department of Transportation regulations
  • Report accidents, delays, incidents, mechanical issues, or disciplinary concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the assigned vehicle
  • Deliver buses to and from maintenance, fueling, and cleaning stations
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff

  • Previous school bus or passenger bus driving experience
  • Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns
