About This Role

We are looking for a dependable and caring Part-Time bus Driver to transport children to and from school and activities safely. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and First Aid certifications (or a willingness to obtain them) and be able to pass all required background checks. The right person will be reliable, patient, and enjoy working with children.


What You'll Do
  • Operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic regulations.
  • Ensure student safety by following safety rules as they board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops.
  • Regularly inspect a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to guarantee they are in working order.
  • Notify maintenance staff of any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Transport students between neighborhoods, schools, and school activities on a strict schedule.
  • Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport students.
  • Maintain order among students during trips to ensure their safety.
  • Compile and submit reports that may include the number of students or trips, hours worked, mileage, or fuel consumption.
  • Stay knowledgeable about first-aid procedures.
  • Record bus routes and track student drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Communicate delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to school administration using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus interior for student comfort.
  • Use maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions to navigate routes.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for student comfort.
