Job description

DESCRIPTION * Currently hiring for weekend shifts only * The City of Shoreview is accepting applications for a part-time Building Service Worker. Multiple shift options are available for weekends. The Shoreview Community Center is a great place to work and our employees enjoy a free community center membership.

The part-time Building Service Worker will perform light cleaning duties and assist our full-time custodial staff. Our facilities include a fitness center, gymnasium, walking/running track, aerobics studios, childcare facilities, concessions area, indoor water park, meeting rooms, banquet rooms and kitchen facilities. Training is provided.

DUTIES INCLUDE Room and equipment set-ups/tear down and cleaning after use Interior cleaning and maintenance of the Community Center/City Hall complex (clean/check/restock restrooms; clean concession seating area; check/empty trash; clean/wipe down fitness equipment; vacuuming; etc.) Follow appropriate procedures and work in a safe manner Arrive on time for shift Maintain timesheet with accurate hours worked Other duties and special projects as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally move 50-100 lbs

OTHER Wage: $15.00 - $19.50 per hour depending on experience. Hours: - Weekend availability is required - - Shift availability is generally: - 9am - 5:30pm Saturday (every weekend or every other weekend options available) - 12pm - 5pm Saturday (every weekend or every other weekend options available) - 9am - 5:30pm Sunday (every weekend or every other weekend options available) - 12pm - 8:30pm Sunday (every weekend or every other weekend options available) - Some weekday shifts may be available as needed This position is open until filled. *** FREE Community Center Membership

*** SUPERVISION OF OTHERS: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires regular physical activity and the ability to perform a variety of manual tasks. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders.

Duties may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Repetitive motions such as sweeping, mopping, and operating cleaning equipment are common. The role may require working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, or snow.

The employee may also be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and mechanical equipment; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
