Job Summary:

The Server is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience through attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient service. This role requires a strong understanding of menu offerings, a commitment to hospitality, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Servers act as ambassadors of the property, ensuring each guest interaction reflects the standards and values of Los Poblanos.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an ambassador for Los Poblanos, the property, and its values
  • Greet and acknowledge guests, anticipating and responding to their needs according to company standards
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of food and beverage menus, providing guidance and recommendations to guests
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless and elevated guest experience
  • Perform opening and closing procedures in accordance with service standards
  • Maintain clear communication with kitchen and bar teams regarding orders and guest needs
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Essential Job Functions:

  • Present menus, describe dishes, and answer questions about offerings
  • Take and input accurate guest orders and dietary/allergies
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure proper execution
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely manner
  • Process payments accurately, including cash and house accounts
  • Address guest concerns and ensure satisfaction
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas
  • Stock service stations with necessary supplies
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
  • Completion of Serve Safe (or equivalent certification)
  • Valid Alcohol Servers Permit
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs regularly
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred:

  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Interest in sustainability, food systems, and New Mexico culture
  • Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art, and architecture is a plus
