Job description

Custodian - Part Time (Facilities Mtnc) - Skagway Border Station


Federal O&M Contractor seeking part time Custodian for long term employment opportunity within Skagway Border Station, AK. Incumbent will be responsible for keeping building in clean and orderly condition. Will perform heavy cleaning duties including but not limited to public bathrooms, public traffic areas, mechanical work areas, polishing fixtures, vacuuming, cleaning, mopping, stripping and waxing floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls/ windows. Empty heavy trash containers, restock/ inventory of cleaning and bathroom products, and other duties as assigned.

Removal of snow/debris from sidewalks, maintain grounds & landscaping. Incumbent will be required to climb ladders, must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Requires strenuous physical effort, long intervals of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions of the hand-wrist and elbow-shoulder.

Employee will report to on-site Project Manager for day to day assignments. Employee responsible for own transportation. Must be willing to submit to a Federal background check.

Position is permanent part-time, 3 hrs a day M-F but when needed may work extensive hours for Snow Removal purposes. Details to be discussed at interview stage.

Details: This position is part of a Federal Service Contract Act policy; benefits are determined based on location of position. SCA provides an ‘earned’ Fringe Benefit (currently $4.93) that is contributed to the company 401K on the employee’s behalf with 100% vested value as of first contribution.

Employee responsible for own transportation.
