Job description

Join our team as a Bootcamp Instructor and make a positive impact on people's lives! We are looking for someone who has previous experience leading Bootcamp classes, both inside and outside, and who carries a nationally accredited group exercise certification.

Classes will be Saturday mornings.

As a Bootcamp Instructor, you will deliver energizing and educational group classes that promote member wellness, safety, and engagement.

Responsibilities of a Bootcamp Instructor:

  • Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
  • Answer member questions and provide support to help them achieve their fitness goals
  • Maintain a working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
  • Build effective and authentic relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA
  • Keep accurate class attendance records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Certification in area(s) of expertise
  • At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred
  • Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED required within 30 days of hire
  • National certification (e.g. ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction
  • New Employee Orientation required within first week of hire

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to conduct classes and activities
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
