Salary:

Position Overview

The Group Fitness Instructor leads structured, engaging group workouts while maintaining a safe and motivating environment. Instructors guide members through exercises, demonstrate proper technique, and provide appropriate modifications for varying fitness levels.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead group fitness classes. We offer bootcamp, HYROX-style performance training, strength training, kickboxing, and other specialty formats.
  • Deliver safe and effective workouts that improve strength, endurance, mobility, and conditioning.
  • Demonstrate proper technique and provide clear coaching cues.
  • Offer modifications and progressions for participants of varying fitness levels.
  • Maintain a motivating, inclusive class atmosphere.
  • Assist with the development of engaging class formats.
  • Use appropriate music playlists that support the class energy and format.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workout environment before and after classes.
  • Support studio events and promotions when requested.

Social Media Support

  • Assist with promoting classes and the gym community through social media.
  • Capture photos or short video clips during classes when appropriate.
  • Contribute occasional posts or ideas that showcase workouts, class participation, and member achievements.

Class Specializations

Bootcamp & Functional Conditioning High-energy workouts combining strength and conditioning.

Strength & Performance Training Progressive strength training and athletic development.

HYROX Training Functional endurance workouts including sled pushes, carries, rowing, running intervals, and performance-based conditioning.

Kickboxing & Combat Conditioning Fitness-based boxing or kickboxing classes.

Performance Expectations

Timeliness

  • Arrive early and fully prepared for scheduled classes.
  • Start and end classes on schedule.
  • Ensure equipment and training areas are prepared before participants arrive.

Member Satisfaction

  • Deliver a positive and engaging class experience.
  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Address member concerns or questions professionally.

Safety and Incident Reporting

  • Monitor participants for proper form and potential injury risks.
  • Prioritize safety in all workouts.
  • Immediately report any injuries, incidents, or safety concerns according to studio procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current CPR / AED Certification
  • Minimum of one year of experience coaching or leading group fitness classes
  • Ability to safely demonstrate exercises
  • Strong communication and motivational coaching skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, AFAA, etc.)
  • Experience teaching multiple formats, including strength training, HIIT, HYROX-style training, kickboxing, or mobility classes
  • Experience working in a bootcamp or small group training environment

Work Environment

  • Active fitness studio environment
  • Requires standing, demonstrating movements, and instructing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or move standard fitness equipment when necessary

Schedule

Morning, evening, and weekend classes may be available depending on studio demand.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on class instruction, certifications, and experience.

Instructor Code of Conduct


Instructors are expected to represent Hybrid Flex Training Studio professionally at all times. This includes maintaining respectful communication with members and staff, demonstrating professionalism in appearance and behavior, and promoting a positive and inclusive fitness environment.

Media & Social Content Awareness


Classes may occasionally be photographed or recorded for marketing and social media purposes. Instructors may assist with capturing appropriate content while ensuring member privacy and consent policies are followed.

Safety & Liability Awareness


Instructors must prioritize safety in all classes, monitor exercise form, and immediately report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions according to studio procedures.

Physical Requirements


This role requires the ability to demonstrate exercises, stand for extended periods, lift moderate fitness equipment, and actively lead workouts in a physically demanding environment.

Background Check Requirement


Final candidates may be subject to background verification, certification verification, and reference checks prior to employment or contract engagement.
