MAJOR FUNCTION: To arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of CCHN patients by ensuring that accurate patient information is collected, and that patients receive an optimum level of professionalism and office experience.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Registers patients for services, entering and verifying all patient demographics and billing information at time of check in.
  • Assist patients with navigating the kiosk registration process
  • Provides excellent customer service skills; greets patients politely and promptly whether over the phone or in person
  • Must portray a positive, courteous, and professional manner to patients, families, visitors, co­workers and physicians
  • Responsible for insurance verification of patients
  • Collect co-pays
  • Obtains necessary patient information and documents, signatures of consent for treatment, release of information and other CCHN forms and scans to computer
  • Direct patients to relevant areas of building
  • Task messages to nurses
  • Sends faxes, retrieves, and routes incoming faxes
  • Understands the organizations financial assistance policy and refers uninsured patients to access to care counselors
  • Must be flexible with the willingness to work different shifts
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient information (HIPAA), staff and confidential facility business
  • Must recognize the importance this position plays in the community and must convey a caring and professional image in all interaction
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused on performing multiple tasks with many interruptions in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Keep areas clean and organized
  • Follow CCHN policies and practices





Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years receptionist/cashier or other related experience/business school training, Hospital/Medica/Office/Medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English; basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required; Typing (45wpm), data entry, telephone answering etiquette, copy machine, must be physically able to sit for long periods of time, light standing and/or walking.
