Commercial Roofing Superintendent (Part-Time)
Position Identification
Part- Time
Reports to: Operating President
Starting pay is commensurate with candidate's experience and qualifications
Position Objective
This position supervises and manages the daily activities of commercial roofing production crews at the specified project. Responsible to handle crew personnel scheduling, issue resolution and oversee the completion of jobs on time and on budget. Strict compliance and adherence to company safety policies. Daily communication with customers, general contractors and sub-contractors.
Job Functions
  • Work closely with Productions Manager and Operating President to ensure proper personnel distribution, material delivery, and identify and implement solutions to potential jobsite/personnel problems before they arise.
  • Travel to and manage multiple jobsites to ensure adherence to all company policies regarding training, safety, and quality.
  • Ensure roofing installation is in compliance with manufacturer specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Utilize the proper roofing materials, equipment, and installation.
  • Prepare and maintain required paperwork and documentation.
  • Effectively communicate feedback to foremen regarding job performance.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a dependable and knowledgeable commercial workforce.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
  • 5+ years related experience in onsite commercial roofing production/supervision
  • Technical knowledge on various roofing systems and manufactures - BUR, Modified Bitumen, TPO, EPDM, PVC.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and specifications.
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with crews and superiors.
  • Ability to communicate and work with others and maintain good working relationships.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedule.
  • Clean driving record and background to be able to work on public projects.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must not be afraid of heights and have the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Familiarity with use of wireless devices including cell phones and tablets.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the basics in roof related sheet metal, including measurements and installation.

Working Conditions
Physical surroundings: Outdoor work with temperature extremes; unfinished construction sites having various elevations and sometimes rough and hazardous surfaces; occasional work with hazardous materials; exposure to noise.
Physical Effort: Extensive walking, working bent over, working on hands and knee, standing, frequent use of ladder or stair climbing, lifting up to 100 pounds.
Domestic Travel: Domestic travel is required
Hours: Mon- Fri 2pm - 7pm (hours are subject to change and dependent upon ongoing projects)
