ACE (Associate Clinical Experience) Intern Opportunities for Students
The Associate Clinical Experience (ACE) Internship Program at Medtronic offers a unique opportunity to work alongside clinical professionals in hospital environments and gain exposure to life-changing cardiac procedures. Associate Clinical Experience Internship Highlights
Gain real-world clinical experience through a full-time summer internship supporting hospital-based cardiac procedures & continue developing your clinical knowledge and professional skills during the following academic year.
Work alongside Medtronic field professionals in hospitals and electrophysiology labs, observing and supporting advanced cardiac procedures.
Learn directly from experienced field-based Clinical Specialists and Mapping Specialists who provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
Complete training led by Medtronic's Field Education team to build foundational knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures, technology, and patient care.
This internship is designed as a talent pipeline for future clinical opportunities within Medtronic. The experience is intended to prepare you for a full-time clinical career as an Associate Mapping Specialist or Associate Clinical Specialist.

Experience firsthand what it's like to build a rewarding career at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and patient outcomes.
Location and Work Model
Clinical Internship opportunities are available in select geographic regions throughout the United States. Because interns support hospital and clinical activities within a designated territory, candidates must reside within their assigned region and remain local throughout both the summer internship and academic year. Candidate location will be considered during the interview and placement process.
This internship combines remote work with field-based clinical experiences within an assigned territory. Interns may participate in hospital procedures, clinical education, and other in-person customer engagements within their assigned territory. Therefore, living within the assigned region is a requirement of the program. Interns are expected to work full-time during the summer and continue part-time during the academic year.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for a Summer 2027 ACE internship, your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these basic requirements.
Working toward a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
Ability to participate full-time (40 hours per week) as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 14 for semester-system programs or June 15-August 21 for quarter-system programs, and continue in a part-time capacity (4-10 hours per week) during the academic year following the internship, with flexibility to accommodate class schedules.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and do not require sponsorship now or in the future for an employment visa. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for the Medtronic Summer Internship Program.
