Job description

Location: Santa Rosa, Guerneville, Sonoma, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Cloverdale,

Job Type: PART-TIME

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 2-8pm. Must have afternoon and evening availability. 

Work Setting: In-home or In-clinic

Compensation: $20–$24/hour, based on experience and training received. Increase after you obtain your Training and RBT certification! 

If you love working with children and want a meaningful career, this role is a great fit for you! Whether you’ve worked as a nanny, tutor, or camp counselor, or are studying psychology, education, biology, or human services, this position offers a valuable opportunity to explore or start a career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You’ll support children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. We’re hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers.

What You’ll Do

As a Behavior Technician at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities

  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)

  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately

  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support

  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions

Qualifications

  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children

  • 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must.

  • Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.

  • Highly Preferred: Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate.

  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients
