Concrete & Masonry Estimator
Location: Sanford, Florida
Company: Our Client

Position Overview

We are seeking a Concrete & Masonry Estimator to join our client's Preconstruction team. This role is responsible for performing accurate quantity takeoffs, developing competitive estimates, and supporting the bidding process from initial drawings through proposal submission.

This position plays a key role in helping secure new projects and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors. The ideal candidate will understand both the technical aspects of estimating and practical field construction methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete and masonry scopes using PlanSwift

  • Review plans, specifications, and addenda to understand full project requirements

  • Develop complete and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

  • Send out and track vendor and subcontractor pricing requests

  • Level and compare vendor quotes to ensure best value

  • Assist in preparing proposals and bid forms for submission

  • Participate in internal estimate review meetings

  • Support project discovery by identifying risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns

  • Maintain organized project files using Google Drive

  • Track and manage estimate data using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel

  • Follow up and communicate with General Contractors as needed

  • Assist with or lead post-bid scope meetings with General Contractors

Required Qualifications
  • Experience estimating concrete and/or masonry construction projects

  • Working knowledge of post-tension (PT) construction

  • Experience using PlanSwift or similar takeoff software

  • Proficiency with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience estimating mid-rise or large-scale commercial projects such as apartments, hotels, or mixed-use developments

  • Understanding of field operations, sequencing, and construction methods

  • Familiarity with vendor and subcontractor pricing processes

  • Experience working with General Contractors in a competitive bid environment
