Job description:

We are looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills and creativity. MOSU is looking for a self-starter that will take responsibility for the bar area and work with the Manager to run an efficient, and profitable bar.

To succeed as a Bartender, you should have to be engaging, friendly, efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Responsibilities:

  • Help the team in Opening/Closing procedures. Restock bar as needed for service.

  • Welcome customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.

  • Be familiar with drink/food menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.

  • Make drink orders for the sit-down patrons through the POS, working with servers to deliver drinks in a timely fashion.

  • Select and mix ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.

  • Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.

  • Take inventory and relay purchasing needs to management to ensure the bar is well stocked.

  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.

  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.

  • Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.

  • Checks taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a bartender/bar back position is preferred

  • Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong task and time management abilities

  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
