Job description:
We are looking for a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills and creativity. MOSU is looking for a self-starter that will take responsibility for the bar area and work with the Manager to run an efficient, and profitable bar.
To succeed as a Bartender, you should have to be engaging, friendly, efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
Responsibilities:
Help the team in Opening/Closing procedures. Restock bar as needed for service.
Welcome customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
Be familiar with drink/food menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
Make drink orders for the sit-down patrons through the POS, working with servers to deliver drinks in a timely fashion.
Select and mix ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
Take inventory and relay purchasing needs to management to ensure the bar is well stocked.
Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
Checks taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed.

Requirements:
2+ years of experience in a bartender/bar back position is preferred
Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
Basic math and computer skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong task and time management abilities
Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs (ie. Beer Kegs)
