WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

May include, but not limited to:

  • Work quickly and efficiently in a fast past environment

  • Advanced understanding of food and beverage products including wine and spirits knowledge

  • Understand and implement cash handling procedures

  • Organize and consolidate steps of service for maximum productivity

  • Work well with others and work together for common goals

  • Understand guest's service needs

  • Physical ability to access all areas of the property

  • Strong communication skills

  • Must be able to handle all cash and bar ticket transactions effectively and correctly

  • Differentiate between type of bar (cash, host, open) and take requisition correctly

  • Take direction, learn, and utilize information for the benefit of the department & its guests-both internal and external

  • Productive and proactive in providing personalized guest experiences

  • Adapt to volume of business

  • Empowered and responsible to maintain your individual bar during any given shift (including proper set-up of bar, proper maintenance of bar during shift, and proper tear down and restocking procedures for the bar)

  • Complete side work necessary per shift as necessary and assigned.

  • TIPS certification required: must follow tips training procedures when serving alcohol

  • Knowledgeable of other outlets of the hotel for means of cross-selling

  • Responsible for continued training in product knowledge and service standards

  • Resolve all guest opportunities in an efficient manner. Check on the guest tables to ensure that we are delivering quality. Ensure that you are being productive and providing personalized guest experiences

  • Bar Job Coach: creating consistency amongst bar processes

  • Maintain bar purchasing: wine, liquor, beer and non-food items

  • Establish relationships with purveyors

  • Monitor product cost: price fluctuations, cost effective comparable

  • Create inventory forms, delegate inventory tasks, enter and submit ending inventory to Finance & Management Team

  • Participate with marketing strategies in building bar revenue & business

  • Participate in the creative process for food & cocktail menus

  • Oversee bar & lounge cleaning and cosmetic needs. Create & establish cleaning processes & procedures

  • Advocate & participate in effective communication amongst bar team

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more

  • Able to stoop and bend

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time

  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment

  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards

  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
