General Summary The Bar Assistant will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the Bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly. The Bar Assistant should be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: (This includes but is not limited to)

  • Assisting with opening and closing duties, such restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc

  • Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer

  • Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed

  • Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles

  • Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty cups and trash from bar top and tables

  • Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes; assist bartender while learning to navigate the POS

  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-year experience required

  • Meets state minimum age (18) to serve alcohol

  • Dependability-job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Team player is MUST

  • Strong task and time management abilities

  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in difficult situations


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

Maryland: This role pays $3.63 - 7.00 per hour plus tips

Pennsylvania: This role pays $5.00 - 5.50 per hour plus tips

Delaware: This role pays $13.25 - 14.00 per hour

Florida: This role pays $9.98 per hour plus tips

Texas: This role pays $5.00 - 5.50 per hour plus tips
