Job Title: Bar Safety Specialist & ID Checker

Location: Cathay Pacific Restaurant, 111 Hancock Street, North Quincy, MA 02171

Compensation: $30.00 / Hour

Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (2 positions available)

About the Role

Cathay Pacific, a legendary staple of the North Quincy nightlife and dining scene, is looking for two professional, vigilant, and personable Bar Safety Specialists (ID Checkers) to join our team.

This isn't just about standing at a door; it’s about being the face of the establishment and ensuring a safe, high-energy, and responsible environment for our patrons. We are looking for individuals who can balance a strong physical presence with exceptional "people skills."

Key Responsibilities

  • Verification: Conduct thorough ID checks to ensure all patrons entering the bar area are of legal drinking age.

  • Safety Monitoring: Perform constant "sobriety awareness" checks to maintain a safe environment for all guests.

  • Intoxicant Assessment: Identify signs of intoxication and work with the bar staff to manage service levels.

  • DUI Prevention: Take a proactive role in helping guests avoid DUI situations by assisting with ride-share calls or ensuring they have a designated driver.

  • Crowd Management: Maintain a professional and secure atmosphere in the bar area.

Schedule

We are looking for candidates to cover the following shifts:

  • Sunday – Thursday: 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM

  • Friday – Saturday: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Requirements

  • Physical Presence: Must be physically strong and capable of managing a busy door and bar floor.

  • Communication Skills: You must be "nice to talk to." We value hospitality; you should be able to de-escalate situations with a smile and treat every guest with respect.

  • Experience: Prior experience in ID checking, security, or bar safety is highly preferred.

  • Reliability: Punctuality is a must for these critical late-night shifts.

  • Judgment: Strong observational skills and the ability to make quick, firm, yet polite decisions regarding entry and safety.

Why Join Cathay Pacific?

  • Top-Tier Pay: We offer a highly competitive rate of $30/hour.

  • Great Environment: Work at one of the most well-known spots in Quincy with a dedicated team and a loyal local customer base.
