Loan Processor amp; Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) - JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Loan Processor amp; LOA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt :
Pay Grade: I (Junior) or II (Senior) Reports to: Branch Manager or Branch Support Manager
Status: Regular, Full-Time or Part-Time Title Grade: I (Junior) or II (Senior)
Location: Knoxville, TN
SUMMARY amp; PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Loan Processor amp; Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) is responsible for supporting the Loan Officer and processing team by managing loan files from initial application through underwriting. This hybrid role involves administrative support, client communication, document collection, and coordination with third parties to ensure loans move through the pipeline efficiently and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
PRIMARY POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Obtain and review required loan documentation from customers to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Proactively communicate with clients, third-party vendors, and team members to collect missing documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Submit complete loan files to underwriting and follow up as needed.
• Initiate title and appraisal orders; track progress to ensure timely completion.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and other client-related events for the Loan Officer.
• Assist with marketing initiatives to support lead generation and client outreach.
• Stay up to date on company policies, mortgage regulations, and industry best practices.
• Maintain organized and compliant loan files throughout the processing lifecycle.
• Perform general clerical duties and other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS amp; EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on loan processing experience in the mortgage banking industry preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
• Dependable and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable learning and adapting to regulatory updates and internal policy changes.
PREFERRED EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in the mortgage banking industry;
• Field of study (Associates degree can be substituted for more than 2 years of loan processing
experience)
• Previous experience with Encompass, a plus
