Sales Position--Cherries and Chocolate!
Would you enjoy meeting hundreds of world travelers every day? Do you delight in exceeding expectations, setting and beating goals, and problem solving? Do you value local, quality products?
We are seeking positive and outgoing cherry and chocolate loving individuals for a fast-paced sales position at Chukar Cherries in the Main Arcade of Pike Place Market.
Charged with cultivating a lifelong relationship between Chukar and customers, a Pike Salesperson is often the first and most important introduction to our company. A great Salesperson will entertain as well as educate our customers, while also performing the technical duties of opening/closing the store, stocking, and maintaining an accurate till. Whether working the counter alone or as a team, our Salespeople are trained to master selling techniques and use those skills to build sales and beat sales goals.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, the following traits are REQUIRED:
  • Excellent communication skills, working both one-on-one and with crowds of customers
  • Work effectively as an independent sales person as well as part of a team
  • Attention to detail, reliability, integrity, and keen sense of awareness for self and others
  • Ability to work in all types of weather in an open-air market, to lift ~30 lbs, and stand for a full 5- to 8-hour shift.

Other traits that are strongly desired include:
  • At least one year experience in a high traffic retail or customer service position
  • Experience using and closing a register, maintaining an accurate cash till
  • Knowledge of Pike Place Market and/or Seattle points of interest
  • Knowledge of gourmet foods, enjoy cooking or baking

  • Tolerance for crowds
  • Be extroverted/ have a large social battery
  • Folks with a performance/theater background encouraged to apply!
