Job Title: Senior Microsoft 365 Consultant

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Consultant to lead M365 and Azure consolidation and migration projects. This consultant will play a critical role in centralizing IT systems, eliminating duplication, and driving collaboration and efficiency across departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership in IT project delivery, and familiarity with public sector compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight & Risk Management

  • Lead Microsoft 365 and Azure consolidation/migration initiatives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure alignment with IT governance, budget, and organizational goals.

Documentation & Communication

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, schedules, and task assignments.
  • Provide regular project updates following HITS PMO - Project Management Playbook guidelines.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and executive leadership.

Meeting & Stakeholder Management

  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings.
  • Prepare/distribute meeting notes, action items, and track progress.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder engagement frameworks.

Financial Tracking & Reporting

  • Estimate, track, and reconcile project expenditures against allocated funding.
  • Provide budget and financial reports for leadership transparency.

General Project Support

  • Collaborate with PMO Leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Support ad-hoc project needs and ensure successful project completion.

  • 8+ years of IT consulting experience with at least 5 years in Microsoft 365 and Azure projects.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale M365/Azure consolidation and migration initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure services.
  • Expertise in project documentation and reporting using MS Project, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow Project Portfolio Management (PPM).
  • Experience in structured PMO environments (PMI, Agile, or Hybrid methodologies).
  • Strong financial management and budget tracking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of public sector compliance, data governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Must be available onsite in Houston, TX, 5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with state or public sector clients.
  • PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with IT governance in large enterprises or government agencies.
