Position Summary:

The Part-Time Line Service Technician is a customer service position that is responsible for supporting all ground operations for inbound and outbound aircraft, flight crews and passengers. In addition, Line Service is a support position to other departments: Charter, Aircraft Maintenance and Facilities. The Part-Time Line Service Technician will primarily help cover weekend shifts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide world-class service during every interaction with crew members and clientele to maintain long term relationships.
  • Deliver safe and efficient aircraft services while providing a welcoming atmosphere to customers and other guests.
  • Offer, promote, sell and deliver general aviation services to crew members, customers and other guests.
  • Coordinates and directs ramp movements for arriving and departing FBO flights.
  • Fuel aircraft in accordance with ATA 103 specifications and quality control standards.
  • Maintains all aspects of fuel handling services, keeping safety top of mind and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and Company policies. This may include but is not limited to: fuel quality control, conducting testing of aviation fuel (sump and bucket test), fuel/services invoicing, fuel inventory and maintaining all accurate related documentation.
  • Top off fuel trucks and fill out proper fuel farm paperwork.
  • Operation and maintenance of ground support equipment.
  • Uses care and accuracy in following all applicable procedures for working with fuels and other flammable and hazardous materials on a daily basis.
  • Tow and marshal aircraft.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and move aircraft in close proximity of people, facilities and other aircraft using extreme caution. Follows Company procedures for personal safety as well as the safety of others and safeguarding Company and customer property.
  • Ensure parked aircraft is properly chocked, locked and secured.
  • Performs light maintenance and janitorial duties as needed and/or requested, this may include but is not limited to: ensuring internal and external aircraft lights are turned off when not in use, aircraft lavatory services and water supplies are safely stored.
  • Help maintain walkways and steps during inclement weather, so passengers have a safe route to and from aircraft.
  • Immediately report suspicious activity in terminals, including unattended baggage, to security.
  • Service aircraft as requested by management or customers, such as fueling, de-icing, lavatory, ground power and potable water services, parking, marshalling, delivering catering and towing.
  • Operate, maintain, and drive ground service equipment such as fuel trucks, de-icing trucks, ground power units, tugs, and stair trucks, shuttles, etc. Operates and handles equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the Company, its personnel, or customers.
  • Maintain safe, clean and secure ramps and operations.
  • Drive a shuttle vehicle with passengers and/or luggage and cargo.
  • Assist with loading and unloading luggage and other cargo into/out of aircraft and from/into the FBO or other location as requested.
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning, vehicle washing and maintenance, aircraft cleaning and vacuuming as needed.
  • Abide by emergency response procedures when/if critical events occur.
  • Assist pilots with aircraft pre and post flight services.
  • Completes recurring training and recertification(s) as required.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations and environmental health and safety laws, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know and other safety requirements.
  • Completes other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including being able to dissect complex situations, gather the relevant information, and come to a reasonable conclusion.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Willing to undergo Airport Identification and Badging process required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including face-to-face, over the phone and written communication.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers and fellow employees at all times.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Comfortable and willing to work outdoors regardless of and adapting to fluctuating weather conditions during the daytime or nighttime, which may include extreme heat, cold, precipitation, or wind.
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning, vehicle washing and maintenance, aircraft cleaning and vacuuming.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision demonstrating self-motivation to complete work tasks.
  • Proficiency with basic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license for occasional travel requirements.
  • A professional appearance and manner consistent with Company culture must be maintained.
