Technical Editor, Mid
The Opportunity:
As a Technical Editor on our team, you'll help your client review intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency. Using your understanding of technical editing, you will ensure that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields. You'll amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text and ensure proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance.
This is a chance to grow your expertise, develop new skills in working with authors to revise products for narrative organization, and negotiate further revisions as needed. We focus on growing as a team to deliver the best support to our customers, so you'll have resources for mentoring and learning new skills and tools.

You Have:
  • Knowledge of national security classification procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to adjust as priorities change
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in technical editing of finished intelligence products within the IC, or 7+ years of experience in technical editing of finished intelligence products within the IC in lieu of a degree

  • Experience reviewing finished intelligence products for the DIA
  • Knowledge of DIA Style Manual for Intelligence Production

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
