Job description

Indiana University (IU) Northwest seeks qualified candidates for the Part-Time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach position. IU Northwest Athletics is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Helps provide support in the management and administration of all aspects of the program.
  • Assists with aspects of the recruitment process, including development of recruitment plans and targeting potential student-athletes.
  • Helps develop a strength training and conditioning program.
  • Attends practices and games, as well as helps with game planning efforts.
  • Provides and supervises academic support opportunities.
  • Breaks down film and performs analysis.
  • Supports in-game management functions.
  • Helps develop and implement strategies for motivating and retaining student-athletes.
  • Helps coordinate fundraising events and participates in fundraising and community service projects.
  • Assists with coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Enforces policies and procedures as outlined in the student-athlete handbook, team rules, and university student handbook.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 3 years of collegiate, high school, club coaching, or relevant experience
  • Experience mentoring students
Preferred
  • Collegiate playing experience
SKILLS
Required
  • Proficient communication skills
Preferred
  • Knowledge of NAIA and/or National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance rules and regulations
  • Computer experience and working knowledge of game film editing software (i.e., HUDL, Synergy, Krossover)
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to work/travel with team early mornings and afternoons, evening, and weekends as necessary.
