William Bunch Auctions & Appraisals has served Delaware County, PA, and the surrounding region for over 50 years. We conduct approximately 24 live and online auctions annually featuring fine art, antiques, jewelry, furniture, decorative arts, collectibles, and estate property.
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Auction Associate / Smalls Handler to join our warehouse and auction operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with antiques, artwork, and unique objects in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary
The Auction Associate / Smalls Handler is responsible for the safe handling, movement, preparation, storage, and organization of auction property throughout the auction process. This position supports receiving, cataloging, photography, previews, auctions, shipping, and customer pickups while ensuring valuable property is handled with care.
Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory

  • Receive, unload, inspect, and unpack consignments
  • Tag, measure, and prepare items for cataloging
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Safely move items throughout the warehouse and gallery
  • Keep storage areas organized
Auction Preparation

  • Assist with exhibition setup and breakdown
  • Stage auction lots for previews
  • Prepare items for photography
  • Ensure lots remain complete and properly identified
Packing & Shipping

  • Professionally pack fragile property
  • Assist with buyer pickups
  • Release purchases to buyers, consignors, and shippers
  • Prepare consignments for transport
Auction Support

  • Assist clients during previews and auction days
  • Support absentee and phone bidding
  • Provide outstanding customer service
Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse
  • Follow safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Assist with furniture movement
  • Work with team members to meet auction deadlines
Qualifications
  • Auction house experience preferred but not required
  • Paid furniture moving or art handling experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and move furniture safely
  • Ability to pack fragile items with care
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Move heavier furniture with assistance
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the day
