Part-Time Armed Security Officer

Primary Location: Aurora, CO

Wage: $27.50/HR

Schedule: Mon & Tues (with possibility of more hours)

Securitas plays an essential role for our clients and in society. The Armed Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently our Armed Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers and serve as a physical deterrent.

Job Duties:

  • Patrol on foot or in a vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances / exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Respond to emergency situations where rapid and effective judgment, appropriate escalation and use of force is required.
  • Work directly with law enforcement, government staffing, and the community.
  • Write detailed incident reports on unauthorized entries, suspicious activity, emergency situations, and any other observed issues. 

  • Security screen all persons coming through the public entrance to ensure prohibited items are not entering facilities. 

  • Monitor surveillance cameras. 

Basic Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older. 
  • High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
  • Above average computer / technology skills needed - tablet, computer, or smartphone.

  • Impeccable customer service and team leadership skills needed. 
  • Must be able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. 
  • Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift. 

  • All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation. 
  • 2 - 5 years of armed experience.
  • Must pass pre-hire testing assignment and shooting qualification.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to provide the office with a reliable phone number where the officer can be reached at all times (i.e. cellular).
  • Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have a strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal/written communication.
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus.
  • Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to conduct patrols throughout shift.
  • Must be comfortable conducting access control duties. 
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Security Officers.

  • Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. 

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. 

  • Additional physical requirements may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
