Job description

Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.0 | On Call | Variable Hours/Variable Days - Must have the ability to float systemwide to other locations
Starting Wage: $21.86 and up, depending on experience.
Shift Differentials:
  • $1.33 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • $2.25 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
  • $1.16 extra for working weekend hours

Position Summary
The Security Officer is primarily responsible for the safety of patients, guests, and employees, and the protection of property. They patrol assigned areas and alert for safety hazards, guest difficulties, accidents, disorderly persons, theft, assaultive behaviors, or other situations or conditions which may affect the overall security of the organization.
Position Qualifications
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent- required
  • Associate Degree in Criminology, Psychology, or related field- preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or other related security experience- required.
  • Please Note: Graduation from an approved law enforcement academy will be considered in lieu of experience.

Taser Training: Employees must complete appropriate taser training before they are released to work any shifts. Information on this training will be provided upon hire.
Licensure/Certifications
  • DPSST: Valid Temporary or Permanent Unarmed or Armed Security Certification from the Department of Public Safety and Standards Training is required upon start.
  • ODL: Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of insurance is required upon start.
