Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

Location: Annapolis

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper/Accountant to take

ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. You will be the backbone of our

financial health, ensuring every transaction is recorded accurately, every vendor is paid

on time, and our leadership team has the data they need to make informed decisions.

The ideal candidate will perfectly reconciled statement and possess a โ€œdetectiveโ€

mindset when it comes to resolving discrepancies.


Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Cycle Bookkeeping

  • Manage all accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

  • Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations.

  • Maintain an organized and digital filing system for all financial records.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L,

Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

  • Assist in year-end closing processes and coordinate with external auditors.

3. Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain the General Ledger and ensure all journal entries are coded correctly.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related

field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 3+ years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping or staff accounting.

Software Proficiency: knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.

o Experience in Excel.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, ability to handle sensitive information with

total confidentiality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
