About Our Family

We are a busy family of five with three active, school-aged kids, a fun-loving dog, and a calendar that rarely slows down. Between work, school, sports, activities, and frequent travel, there's always something happening. One parent works from a home office and travels regularly, often every other week, while the other works in education and coaching, making afternoons and evenings especially full during the school year. Life moves quickly in our home, and we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys bringing calm and order to a busy household.

We're easygoing, down-to-earth people who love to laugh and don't take ourselves too seriously. Our home is filled with love, a healthy dose of chaos, and high expectations for our kids to be kind, responsible, and contribute to the family. We're excited to welcome someone who will take ownership of the household behind the scenes, helping create the calm, organization, and consistency that allows our family to truly thrive.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are an experienced household professional who naturally notices what needs attention before anyone has to ask. You don't wait for a list. You create the systems that keep a home running smoothly. You anticipate needs, stay organized, and genuinely enjoy the satisfaction of checking things off before they become problems. Whether you're restocking the pantry, organizing returns, coordinating appointments, resetting the house after a busy weekend, or making sure laundry doesn't pile up before Friday, you take pride in creating a home that feels calm, prepared, and well cared for.

You're confident working independently and comfortable in a home where the parents may be working nearby. You know how to be present without being intrusive, communicate clearly without creating extra work, and keep everything moving with professionalism and good judgment. You're comfortable using digital tools to stay organized, and most importantly, you've done this kind of work before. If you're looking for a family where your experience, initiative, and attention to detail will truly make a difference, and where your contributions will be deeply appreciated, you'll feel right at home here with us.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Perform daily resets (e.g., unload dishwasher, wipe down kitchen surfaces, put away hand-washed items, vacuum high-traffic areas, straighten common areas and playroom, etc.)
  • Create and maintain household organization systems that can evolve with the family's needs
  • Prepare home before biweekly cleaning visits
  • Manage and organize seasonal closet swaps (e.g., assess what fits, what's needed, and what can be donated)
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Handle packages, break down boxes, and manage packaging

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and put away all of the children's laundry
  • Manage regular rotation of kids' sheets and towels
  • Handle adult laundry on heavier travel weeks as needed
  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and well-stocked laundry area

Inventory & Errands

  • Proactively manage pantry, fridge, and household supply inventory
  • Manage ongoing online grocery orders (e.g., receive, organize, and put away deliveries)
  • Perform in-person grocery shopping for special occasions and holidays
  • Handle Amazon returns, dry cleaning, and other household errands as requested
  • Manage household subscriptions and orders (e.g., Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)

Meal Support

  • Perform light meal prep 12 times per week, with a focus on evenings when the family is on the go
  • Prepare grab-and-go breakfasts and snacks (e.g., washed fruit, chopped vegetables, portioned yogurt cups, etc.)
  • Pack weekly school lunches in advance
  • Prepare activity bags and car-friendly meals for sports nights
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen throughout the day

Family Support

  • Provide childcare on Tuesdays (before and after school) and serve as backup when regular coverage is unavailable
  • Assist with occasional school pickup or activity drop-off
  • Support kids' activity preparation (e.g., sports uniforms laid out, gear bags packed, entertainment bags for siblings)
  • Help children build age-appropriate independence and responsibility within daily routines

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Assist with managing and updating household calendar with events, appointments, birthday invitations, school requirements, and activities
  • Prepare school forms and paperwork (e.g., field trip forms, permission slips, etc.)

Pet Care

  • Walk dog at least once per shift
  • Maintain pet supplies

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Serve as point of contact for service providers when present in the home
  • Perform occasional pool checks during owner travel weeks (low priority, as needed)
  • Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance as needed (can be handled as a miscellaneous errand)
