Position Summary

Under general supervision of and in accordance with Clovis Community College and departmentally established practices and expectations, adjunct instructors work collaboratively with other faculty within the College and their discipline to ensure that key concepts of the specific discipline are addressed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching assignments may vary depending on the specific qualifications and expertise of the individual. The Instructor will provide students with a complete syllabus containing course outcomes and competencies; present well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus; continually promote development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving, assessment, and decision-making; provide students with timely information and feedback on academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework, and projects; maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic performance; and possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies. Use technology tools including, but not limited to, Canvas, Starfish, e-mail, MS Office, and the Internet.

Requires continuous movement within the College, continuous sitting and handling of small objects such as paper and pen. Requires pushing and pulling of up to 10 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor degree in a computer- or information systems-related discipline; a bachelor or associate degree in any discipline and tested professional, industry-related experience accompanied with a current industry certification from a recognized credentialing organization (e.g. CompTIA, Certiport, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, VMware, Amazon Web Services, etc.) in the discipline or subfield to be taught.
