Title: House Manager & Family Assistant (with light Meal Prep)
Location: Austin, TX 78704
Employment Type: Part-time (10-12 hours/week, flexible)
Proposed Start Date: Mid/Late April 2026
Compensation: $30/hour
Requirements:
  • Able to maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
  • Comfortable with pets (2 dogs)
  • Tech-savvy with scheduling tools (e.g., Google Calendar, task management apps)
  • Positive, upbeat, and kind personality, especially with children

Proposed Schedule:
  • 1-2 days per week, 5-6 hours per day (flexible timing and can change it up as needed even last minute)
  • Some tasks may be completed virtually (e.g., email tasks, scheduling)
  • Flexibility for occasional evening hours or travel support (2-3 times/month)

About Our Family:
We are a dynamic family with a passion for creativity, health, and movement. Our "pack" includes two working parents, three young children (ages 5, 3, and 1), and two dogs. We're in the process of moving to Austin from California, and we'd love an extra pair of helping hands to assist us as we settle into our new space and establish it as home.
As co-founders, both parents work together from home, balancing busy entrepreneurial careers while striving to maintain fulfilling personal lives. With three young kids and a hectic schedule, we're looking for someone to help ease the mental load of logistics, allowing us to focus on what matters most-spending quality time together. We have childcare support as well as an Executive Assistant for our business, but we need someone to support the day-to-day management of our household and help us stay organized.
We enjoy spending time with extended family and aim to create a home that fosters creativity, joy, and togetherness. We need a house manager who can take initiative, offer light support with the kids, and help maintain order while being flexible as our family adjusts to new routines. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment and can provide seamless support, we'd love to meet you!
Who We're Looking For:
Our ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle tasks independently without needing constant direction. We're looking for someone who will quickly integrate into our lives and flow with the family rhythm. If you are positive, energetic, and ready to help create a space for us to thrive as a family, you'll be a great fit. Spanish fluency is a plus to help maintain our child's language skills, but it is not required.
Our ideal candidate will:
  • Be Proactive: Anticipate needs and take initiative.
  • Stay Organized: Maintain systems and keep everything in place.
  • Solve Problems Creatively: Adapt to changing family dynamics.
  • Pay Attention to Detail: Ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Be Flexible & Adaptable: Adjust to shifting schedules and priorities.
  • Communicate Effectively: Keep the family informed and connected.
  • Appreciate Wellness & Design: Create a harmonious home environment.
  • Stay Calm Under Pressure: Handle tasks and deadlines with ease.
  • Bring Energy & Independence: Work efficiently and self-sufficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization
  • Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms (load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas); maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
  • Manage household calendars, syncing family and school schedules
  • Assist with planning occasional parties and family events
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Support unpacking after travel
  • Assist with setup tasks associated with the upcoming move (security system, baby-proofing, unpacking boxes)

Meal Planning & Preparation
  • Cook/prep healthy snacks and lunches for kids, batch-prep jar salad lunches for adults, and prepare 1-2 family meals per week
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Follow dietary needs and family preferences (allergies: peanut, egg & butter/milk)
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Inventory Management & Errands
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)

  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Pet Care
  • Walk dogs and manage care as needed
  • Schedule and coordinate vet, grooming, or other appointments

Vehicle Management

  • Occasionally act as point of contact and provide long-distance support for tenants at multiple properties as needed
  • Oversee occasional one-off projects for outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs

Family Support & Child Assistance
